Mongolia Unseen: Winter Wonderland

Over nine days, we'll journey deep into the heart of Mongolia—from the rolling dunes of the Mini Gobi and peaceful hot springs of Arkhangai to the crystal-clear waters of Lake Khuvsgul and the remote lands of Mongolia's reindeer herders. Along the way, we'll stay with nomadic families, ride camels across the desert, explore volcanic landscapes, sleep beneath endless star-filled skies, and discover a way of life that has remained largely unchanged for generations. We'll end our adventure back in Ulaanbaatar, celebrating the memories and friendships formed across one of the world's last great wildernesses.

We believe the most unforgettable journeys aren't about visiting famous landmarks—they're about discovering places and people that most of the world never gets to experience. This isn't about luxury or fast-paced sightseeing. It's about slowing down enough to appreciate the silence of the steppe, the warmth of nomadic hospitality, and the simple beauty of life lived in harmony with nature. That's why we created Mongolia Unseen.

before you ask

adventure FAQs.

Tipping is not compulsory, but it is greatly appreciated and is customary for multi-day tours in Mongolia. It is a meaningful way to recognise the hard work of your local team throughout the expedition. We recommend budgeting approximately: Guide: USD 10–20 per person, per day Driver: USD 5–10 per person, per day For this 9-day trip, we recommend preparing USD 120-200 (or the equivalent in Mongolian Tögrög) to cover gratuities for your guide and driver.

Mongolian cuisine is simple, hearty and designed for the country's harsh climate. Expect generous portions featuring meat, noodles, rice, soups and vegetables. Meals during the expedition may include: Beef, mutton or chicken dishes Dumplings (buuz) Noodle soups Stir-fried rice and vegetables Traditional dairy products In remote areas, dining options are limited, so meals are based on what's locally available. If you have vegetarian, vegan, halal or severe food allergies, please let us know before departure. While we'll do our best to accommodate dietary requirements, options may be more limited outside Ulaanbaatar. We also recommend bringing a few of your favourite snacks, cup noodles or protein bars for the longer driving days or if you have food restrictions.
